Default Road Tax!!!

If I own a car and a bike, why should I have to pay 2 lots of road tax?? Tried to find out if this has been discussed before but nothing.

Road tax applies to the vehicle, not the driver.

Now, side step on to paying tax on fuel & road tax, and you're in to double taxation policies.

...but as you can only use one at a time (unless you've lent it to your mate) then you are already being taxed twice.

Me and millions of others would dodge the tax by owning all the family vehicles and (in my case) avoid paying road tax on my wife's car and my son's car.

You are paying double tax even by owning one vehicle. You pay your Road Tax and Fuel Duty (oh, and insurance tax) out of money you have already paid Income Tax and National Insurance on.

Someone has paid tax on every pound before you get it, you pay tax when you earn it, then you pay tax when you spend it, and you pay tax on any interest you get while you've got it in the bank... where does it all go?

If you're only using one vehicle at a time, where is the other one parked?

On the public road? Need road tax for that.

In your garage? Ah, that'll be council tax then. Oh yea, and don't forget to renew that SORN every year. They won't send you a reminder, and you'll be up a smelly river if you forget.
