Only really at high RPM, and, as these seem to be re-engineered JAP engines I don't think they'll rev that high
That must be a simply colossal amount of work. I was once told that even if you were to do a straight rebuild of period engines now they'd be more reliable simply because our understanding of metallurgy and materials are better. I assume these are fairly faithful reproductions with a few changes to aid reliability, but I'd be very interested in details! The purists will probably be upset, but less so than if you took a modern engine and put it in a classic bike Jambo
