BT Home HUB Help
Anyone a tech wizard with these pieces of cr@p? I need to connect one to my business ADSL (provided by my employer) but it will not connect as it has the wrong broadband userid hardcoded into the damn thing. I am unable to change the userid it uses. Anyone know how?

Re: BT Home HUB Help
Never used one other than on a BT network etc. But can you access the router? Usualy by ip address. Check the manual if you have one.

Re: BT Home HUB Help
You can telnet into the thing on 192.168.1.254, user admin password admin, I think you can dig around quite a lot that way

Just so people know, they are basically Speedtouch's in disguise.
Loads of info on how to mess around with it. http://www.the-scream.co.uk/forums/t22917.html

Re: BT Home HUB Help
yeah was able to access the management pages. Wanted a BT fusion mobile phone to run over the wi-fi. Must pair with a BT home hub. Only tricky bit was running the BT home Hub for residential over my corporate ADSL line.
Need to change the BB userid and pwd, but it is hard coded into the thing (BT uses the phone number to authenticate) and I cannot change them - there is a page to update them, but they are ignored. The latest firmware has been 'hardened' against cracking. Have cancelled the Fusion package now, none of my networking mates had a clue either. Shame since I barely have a mobile signal here, this seemed like a neat solution. |
