Default Arai helmets

looking into getting a new helmet, currently have an arai condor and went into hein gericke today and like the look of either the arai viper gt sinister (blue) £429 or the arai chaser samurai £369, they will price match any online prices and can give me i think 6 months (maybe 12) 0%,

now is the viper worth the extra £60?(maybe less if i can get a decent online price)

but then they did have a shoei xr1000 on sale but cant remember how much it was now but i did not have time to try any on just dropped in

anyone got any of the above helmets and can give some feedback or other ideas?

thanks

They have some more on the online section. Some of the Arai viper GT and chasers way cheaper than what you mention http://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/shop/i...sort/2a/page/1

I got a Shoei XR from J&S for £250 as opposed to £340. I do like the fit of the shoei, it seems to suffer a bit from wind noise, but ear plugs help, and I'll try a helemt skirt

I'd be wary of buying a Shoei from Hein Gericke.... they haven't stocked them for years, ever since they fell out with them... either very old stock or someone selling their own stuff through the shop...

George White are doing deals on Arais, Viper GT Sinister for £280.
http://www.georgewhite.co.uk/?catego..._sinister_blue_

but as Yorkie so eloquently says, probably best to try a few lids to see what fits best within your budget. My first lid was a £350 Arai and it wasn't the best fit, I now have a Shoei X-Spirit and its perfect for me.

The XR1000 is being replaced (with XR1100)soon so you should be seeing good discounts on them.

also a point to be aware of is the Viper is; although road legal, designed as a race lid so noise consideration is less than on the chaser which is primarily road.

Cheers Mark.

Yep, the 1100 is the new one...

Going back to Arai, the chaser is a lovely lid, depending on size and design some are discounted on the hg website at the moment.

If you know your size www.helmetcity.co.uk also do some good offers sometimes, I got my chaser there over £100 cheaper than anywhere else
