I just don't get why people can't justify 30 quid or so on a wireless headset, or £100 on a proper handsfree kit.

Hovis - putting your phone on speaker as I understand it wouldn't be acceptable as you still have to handle the phone in order to do so - unless it's in a cradle you're basically not allowed to touch the handset.

You can get a bluetooth headset for under £15 these days.

Though a lot of prats in porsches don't seem to be able to afford them.

if you were using a phone whilst driving I think you should stop trying to justify it and ask yourself honestly why you think it's ok to risk all around you on the road for the benefit of a conversation. We're all bikers and by that I sincerely hope I mean we're a little more observant than the average car driver. Who here can't spot the driver on the mobile by his or her erratic driving and lane wandering? It's not rocket science to realise that using the phone whilst driving, regardless of the law, is more dangerous than not doing it. Please have regard for other road users by applying your concentration to driving rather than your phone.

Sorry, rant over but this subject should be a no brainer imho.

OK suitably chastised on the phone thing. Yes i do have a handsfree kit, but it wasn't with me.

I just hope that all you complaining that drift over the speed limit imeadiately think everytime 'Gosh I got away without a £60 fine and 3 points there that was lucky'
