what you need it for? normal will do most of the time untill you get proper stuff or super glue ...

If I understood the reason behind the specification of using 518 then I'd be able to decide if I wanted to use a substitute, as I dont know its properties I'll stick to what the manual says for now.
Its application is for sealing the water pump to the engine. |

ehh so they use thread lock to seal the water pump ??? id be using silicone gasket or is it for the bolt (if so its to do with heat)

Loctite is a brand name not a product. 518 or gasket eliminator as it's official title is the product, as is 5922 which is an example of a flange sealant.
What your saying is similar to if I were asking for some beans and u told me that any Heinz product would do, if I listened then came back with some ketchup that wouldnt go as well on my toast ![]() |

it was for fitting the waterpump whilst doing the timig belt on the megane but it didnt much matter, never got to do it anyway.
