Tyres
Urgently need a new pair of shoes for my SV. Where is the best place to go in the TV (Maidenhead ish) area to get them?
Recommendations would also be welcome but I will probably do a search for that info. Jon

Re: Tyres
I recomend Ride In Tyres in reading, but not sure if thats too far for you. I know Si uses him too.
As for tyre choice, i really like my Z6's, but will probably go for 021'a next time if I'm feeling flush. |

Re: Tyres
I like my Z6's too, they feel well planted. I have heard great things about the dual compound PR2's as well.

Re: Tyres
z6's or 021's seem to be all the rage these days and i think that ride in tyres are generally considered to be pretty good. Never used them myself tho so couldnt say. I just got a new 021 on the front of the zzr and have nothing bad to say about it so far.

Mark Wilson. The best place to go. Metzler Z6's. He'll give your wheels a clean and check your wheel bearings at the same time. He'll also adjust your chain if it needs it. |

Re: Tyres
I used Ride-in. I only replaced the rear, with another Sportmax, cos the front wasn't too bad and I'm not really planning to keep it much longer anyway.
As to which tyre to use, I've heard enough ludicrous opinions about tyre choices over the years that so long as they're round, black and made by a company you've heard of, I don't think you'll go too far wrong.

Re: Tyres
Or you could get G&S motorcycle tyres who come to you.
A little more expensive (I paid £20 more for the set fitted than ride in ride out) but could sit at home while they did it. Always used them, awesome service. 01189629561 or 07702391071 |

Re: Tyres
What and give them the chance to rag your bike for you. Get speeding tickets for you? Nah. I'd rather ride myself. Rag my own bike. Avoid the cash generating machines and save the £20 on a tank of juice.

Re: Tyres
I've just rung G&S and they come out as far as Heathrow and will fit the 021's for 235 squid. They also suggested Avon ST at 222 squid.

Re: Tyres
I believe that Mark paid about ?180 for his set of 021's from Ride In, although he said something about being quoted 200 over the phone. I also remember he said somehting about hopping onto the owners race bike - typical ASM
