Default Restricting?

I've got sv650s k4 that I need to restrict. I've got a restrictor kit for a curvy sv that my brother used to use. But my question is can I use that kit on my pointy?? and Has anyone done it? Or should i just buy ECU restrictor?
Cheers

The curvey is restricted by washers in the carb and the pointys are fuel injected. Therefore this wouldnt work. Or what kind of restriction did your brother use?

Get the ECU, it leaves the bike in a much more usable condition than the washer/throttle stop option. I got mine on E-Bay for under forty quid and will be removing it next April.

By using the ECU option, you still have full throttle action and the swap over at the end of your restriction is a doddle. Also, on a private testing ground, I managed an indicated speed of 106 MPH, not bad for 33BHP.

Pointy restriction is normally done via the ECU. There are normally a few knocking around in the for sale section.

It is a very nice private testing ground isn't!

Have you sold your restricted ECU now? I am thinking of keeping mine in case I ever sell Sylvie on, then I can get rid of the lot to anyone restricted or not.
