I wish they'd put it into a bigger brother of the CB500X. Looks like it will be powering the new Transalp but that's a lot more offload biased for what i would like as a next bike. Something going head to head with the Tiger Sport 660 would be nice, but without the latter's horrible up-sloping back end.

I agree about the tiger 660, the rear end looks odd.

I saw this posted today and I think it looks good as the new Transalp and I'm not an adventure bike fan

Hopefully the Transalp will be at the NEC show in November so I can see just how tall it is. My guess is too tall, just like the 850/900 Tigers and the Africa Twin. If they made two versions of it (road biased and offroad biased) then... We'll see. The new VStrom might tick the box for me instead, or possibly the new SV if they give it a reasonable half fairing as a sports tourer option.

I've just bitten the bullet and ordered the new Transalp. The last bike I bought from new was the Suzuki GT750a in 1976.

I've gone for the white and the urban pack which includes a top box, centre stand and a taller screen. Delivery hopefully in May.

Nice. I really like the look of them but after finding myself on tiptoes when sitting on one at the Show in November I had to cross it off the list. Does not suit my 30 inch inseam.

Hope the delivery date comes sooner rather than later and you love it John.

I had a sit on the new Hornet and 500x. The Hornet was very compact and I could have been tempted by that. The 500x was a perfect size and weight too but 47hp is too low, besides I think the Transalp won't be much bigger and about the same weight.

There is an optional lower seat I discovered yesterday. Not cheap though.

Low seats usually have less padding, and who wants that .

The 500X has about the same power as my T100, but will not have the torque. I'd like to test ride one though as they're not as tall as the Transalp. Won't be changing the bike this year (thank you new double glazing!) so plenty more time to ponder.

They do look good, I'm very interested to hear your impressions when you swing your leg over it!
