Unmarked speed camera van

Pretty hard to claim the camera van is being used as a deterrent if it's camouflaged.

To be honest, camera vans (or plod with handheld speed guns) are most often positioned at obvious locations, such as in small villages situated on major A-roads where the limit temporarily drops from NSL to 30 or 40mph. If people don't slow down when entering those villages etc then I have little sympathy if they get caught.

On the other hand, I sometimes see marked camera vans set up on open, flowing NSL dual carriageways / motorways, and this smacks of revenue generation to me. It also causes further problems as inattentive drivers often brake suddenly when they spot the van.

Northamptonshire has the least maintained roads in England with a lot of them, A as well as B roads, dangerous to bikers. They dhould spend some of the money on getting the roads somewhere near safe instead of it just being a cash cow
