Saw these on t'interweb this evening.
I'm curious if they're any good. Also have they done a good semi-permanent ink yet? Monkeyman. |

Re: Ultraviolet tattoos-anyone got one/seen one/done one?
i have a friend who had one of these done and its looks pretty cool. The whole fadding away so that noone can see it is crap tho, after 2 years odd you cant see it indoors in normal room lighting when you get no natural light but outside in the sun you can still see it albeit faintly cause of the ambient uv. Shame cause its a really good idea, personally i think its probably best if you use it accent a normal tattoo, dont get it because you want something you can hide as it doesnt work
as for fda approval i remember looking into this and it HAS NOT been approved for use in humans despite being allowed to be used on animals for traking purposes. Also remember that the fda is american so do you really trust them with money making chemicals? As far as i am aware it has also not been approved by the U.K. Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (our version of the D side of the FDA) for use in animals and thus is not currently availiable on the general uk market and as such must be imported from america. Note this may have change in the last couple of years cause i was researching it for my friend who ended up getting it. |

Re: Ultraviolet tattoos-anyone got one/seen one/done one?
Well I have a supposed semi permanent 3-7 year tattoo on my arm. Got it done up in Manchester in Aflex Palace.
5 years on and it hasnt faded much at all..... Good job I like it. I want to get it re-done permanently to make it look a bit better and maybe expand it, but I also want to see if it will ever fade away..... |
