Down there i happen to have stashed away, another bike > ...ha ha, only its been standing around and the battery fecked...so charge it > up, get it going, ride around a bit, then set off for London,,,so im thinking > shall i fill up now or wait....i wait, next thing it runs out and i cant get > the switch to turn onto reserve, so i stall, in the middle of the Orwell > Bridge....im stuck in the central reservation, ive got two goes at starting it > before the battery dies....no joy, it dies, meanwhile, its getting dark, i > cant go forward, i cant go back, theres no hard shoulder....time to panic ! > Phone AA, that will be £117 to come and get you going...fahgeddabowdit...Silki > comes with jump leads and manage to return to Woodbridge...so ive gotta go > down again to get it with new battery - Kawasaki ZX6R sports bike - quick but > my thumbs were aching all the way back in the car cos there so much weight on > your hands.... its all in the joy of biking folks ! and there was i , welcoming some new Hornet owner to the org t'other daythink it will be written off, thinking of gettinhg Hexagon to collect it today, as i havent heard from his insurers, i can do more or less what i want, altho having the Kwak clouds the courtesy bike issue somewhat... |

Re: The joys of biking (part VIII )
6 weeks, my last payout took six months. BTW you can stop them writing off your bike by using aftermarket parts of equal quatily but much cheaper. e.g. a standard sv650 can is somthing like £600 list decent aftermarket road legal can with a letter of explaination why £200

Re: The joys of biking (part VIII )
i got a call from his insureres asking what the damage was...i siad i was getting an estimate, they said they would pay the same day if i got a price ! i would expect them to send an engineer to value it themselves, but maybe not . Hexagon reckon its not a write off and not too bad, altho the list he then read out was massive...
Dk why you are referring to an SV Tom, its Hornets in here innit? PS - insurer also asked about my injuries, but that is a 6 weeks job to see their specialist...have had Riders Support trying to get me to hire them, dk if i should |
