2007 SV650S, or is it?

Last year I bought this 2007 SV650S with 84000km on the clock. Neat machine but needed some TLC. I managed to get hold of an OEM workshop manual and a 2007 supplementary manual.

I casually compared my bike's frame number to the list in the manual and to my surprise found out it is an SV650SU (see attached images)

I cannot find any information about what an SV650SU is apart from post 2008 models being LAMS models sold in Australia and they were all blue. My bike is grey, I live in Malta (Europe) and the bike was probably sold originally in France.

Do you guys have any knowledge about such model bike? Is it actually restricted and how to I find out without dynoing it / racing it against another SV

Thank you for the reply! I have read that wiki before, says LAMS model was introduced in 2008, in Australia. Somewhere else I read that LAMS models were all blue.

My bike is a 2007, sold in EU. And it's grey...Hence my question

Yes your bike is the first twin sparks that came in grey and blue. In the uk i had a 2008 same colour so i would presume that yours is a late 2007. I now have a 2007 in blue same twin spark bike.
