I took Sylvie down to the hospital the other day, for a visit to the spinal service and get some physiotherapy. Riding her was a joy and the therapist has given me some exercises that will strengthen the exact parts of my neck that hurt when I ride.
The unknown mass at the base of my skull has not grown in six months, so all looks OK. I have another scan to look forwards to in a year or so... Yay.

While riding Sylvie to my appointment, she suddenly cut out. Dash was dead, everything dead, no lights or anything. Just as suddenly, she came back on, I hit the starter button and the dash went off again, but the engine cranked over, she fired and everything came back to life. When I got home and chucked the battery charger on, it had just over twelve volts but that dropped under load. I wish that our garage had power so that I could run a trickle charger.
It was properly funny being stuck in the road, scooting Sylvie along with my feet, with a builder's van trying to shove me out of the way because they were in a rush!
Once at the appointment, the physio picked up my jacket, which has built in armour and he was shocked at how heavy it was. Having slid down the road more than once, I don't wear fashion leathers. He was also impressed with my jeans, with built in hip and knee armour. I don't think that he had seen anything like it before. Hopefully I inspired him and he will be out riding his own bike one day.

Check number 6 on here,

https://straticus.epizy.com/Motorcyc...blems.html?i=1

As for the garage I helped my M8 power up his council garage which has no mains. I fitted him a fused SAE connector the same as I fitted on mine to his battery and then kept under the rear seat. I gave him an old 12v Car battery I had and a lead with the SAE connector to plug into the bike but with some Crocodile clips to go onto the car battery.

This kept his SV charged up as the Heavy Duty car battery would take months to discharge and then he'd just charge it up at home

If you need one,

There's plenty of vids on YT for fitting SAE connectors and you can get them off eBay cheap,

An alternative, but more expensive but more flexible is the solution my son uses in his non powered garage is something like this

Forgot to add. A few years ago I bought one of these Brill devices,

https://tinyurl.com/5d282kjd

It's a USB chargeable Starter Pack. Only downside is that you have to remove the rider seat to get to the battery but they work great!

Less than 40 quid
