Changed the leaky 'Cup Seal' on the SV's clutch slave cylinder. There was some right cack in what was left of the old fluid when I popped out the piston.

Did an oil and filter change on the bike this afternoon.

I usually use an old plastic oil can with the side taken off as a tray to catch the oil. The one I normally use was still full from the last oil change so I decanted it into an empty container and then drained the oil from the bike into it.....and realised too late that I'd forgotten to put the cap back on it with the consequence that I had a couple of pints of old engine oil in a big puddle on the concrete pan in front of the house.

I need to buy a bag of Spillsorb or cat litter, it works better than newspaper and sand.

Bummer. I always keep a bag of cat litter in my garage just in case of these mishaps :/

Back in the day we inherited my Uncles old car (Dad and I. ))I decided to change its oil. All went swimmingly until I started to refill the oil. Great until I realised that oil was poring straight out onto the drive (newly laid tarmac) Dad was non to pleased!

Cleaned the SV. It's amazing how shiny the bike looks after a generous application of ACF50.

Hmmm. I noticed yesterday while cleaning the bike, that one of the long s/s caphead screws had come undone and fallen out of the left hand engine cover. Just ordered some more via ebay, but also found a place in Newtown that has the right sized s/s caphead bolts in stock, so I'll ride over there later today and buy 3 or 4 of them. I only need one, but it never hurts to have a few spare bolts of this type handy in the spares tub.

Just fitted the new front Pirelli Angel ST to the bike. It'll be interesting to see how it feels with the 120/70/17 instead of the 120/60/17. It took a little more juggling to roll the wheel back in to place, with it being just that extra bit taller. There's bags of room under the mudguard still though.

Having fitted the tyre, I then came in and booked the MoT for the bike for next week, as the current one runs out on 15th. I'll give the bike a quick check over in the next couple of days just to make sure everything is as it should be.

Thanks Trevor. It should be fine, it sails through the MoT every year with no problem and I've not seen anything this year that will change that.

I will admit to looking at the weather forecast when they asked me when I wanted to bring the bike in for the test!
