Just been out for a walk with Mabel, and river/stream levels have gone down dramatically now. It's drying up and sunny, so I'm tempted to get the bike out again.

Glad to hear Mel is recovering Mike, hope she didn't have it too rough with covid.

I'm tempted to go into the office tomorrow to see if all the fields surrounding Oxford have flooded again. But as the heating in our office is currently broken and we did not get the storm this far inland I don't think I will...

Never did get the bike out in the end, despite the good weather. Used the time to get my greenhouse into a useable state.

Morning all. Ridiculously mild weather here. Still not had to put any heating on.

Same here John. It seems to have got worse since daylight, as it was not too bad at dog walk time.

Oddly clear and bright here. I say 'oddly' because if there's going to be any kind of mist or precipitation anywhere in the North West, we get it. Going to head out and get some sun therapy for the old pineal gland.

Good idea. Grand kids are here for a few days. Just got back from a muddy adventure in the local park.

Yep, warm and sunny here too. I need a couple of odds and ends so I shall go into town on the bike for them.
Just got back with Mabel from 6 miles of glorious hillwalking locally. Stunning weather but more than a little worrisome that we are getting this so late in October.

I heard today that the heating is back on in the office. The failure turned out to be connected to a "sprinkler/electricity interface issue" we had a few weeks ago, that has been temporarily fixed by adding a containerised generator beside our existing backup genset. The heating is now running off a third generator apparently... If you're in the wrong bit of the building it already smells like an indoor bus station so flip knows what it will be like when I go back to my usual two days onsite next week. Plus it was already noisy with just two of them thrumming away all day!!

Early 70's office blocks for you...
