Home made undertray for curvy
Right i am finally getting round to make it. Got the template getting the ally etc..... Would like to know what the best license plate bracket for it as on the website for the template they use the Rsend one?
Secondly whats the best way to preserve it from road salts etc like how many coats of laquer. also would it be good to spray scottoiler anti corrosion stuff on it be a good idea? And lastly from experiance how do people cover up the indicator wires and the number plate wires for it please!! Thanks alot ash |

As for the wires, I was thinking of using heatshrink tubeing. |

Re: Home made undertray for curvy
best license plate bracket - made my own using the original bracket
coats of lacquer - 2 or 3 coats of etch primer scottoiler anti corrosion stuff - don't know what the hell that is wires - i used a bit of flexi plastic tube i had lying about, threaded the wires through it and zip tied them to the back of the plate bracket also my indi's are a bit on the el-cheapo side so i squirted a bit of black silicone in where the wires enter the bolt as it didn't look very water tight Last edited by Wideboy; 31-03-08 at 05:27 PM. |

Cool how'd you go about making your own you got any pics of it mate? The scottoiler stuff is just a spray that helps to stop corrosion on metals its really good. |

i used the original bracket that's on your bike now, i just sanded it down and re-sprayed it, then cut this ^^ shape out of ally, drilled it out and bent it 90 degrees and it held onto the bike using the bolts that hold on the number plate but im going to be changing these to metal as they need to be done up tight'ish so the indi's cant move in the wind and the plastic bolts just strip the thread |

Re: Home made undertray for curvy
I used a motrax bracket. They mount the plate and the indis. As for the wires I used heat shrink, and drilled holes with rubber gromets so they can't chafe

no the bolts are done up tight so they cant move, they sometimes move in when you take the cover off but you can just move them back into place with you hand
