Default Whitwell Railway Station

Every Friday night is mainly a bike night at Whitwell Railway Station in North(ish) Norfolk.

I went last Friday (01/06/12) and had a pleasant mug of tea and a slice of cake and looked at loads of different bikes from an old Matchless up to the latest GSXR1000 - a varied mix of stuff.

If you are in the area on a Friday its a nice little evening out

Maybe in the summer? It's about an hour each way for me but a hot evening out could be good in the holidays.

Good find, I'm up for that

I did go to another for a bit last year at the Earle Arms in Heydon literally down to road from this place, that's on a Friday too, might make for an interesting route with both in the same evening

edit: Here's the Earle Arms site, I assume they are still gathering there: http://earlearms.vpweb.co.uk/

Although the 2 places really ain't that far apart so maybe the long way round is the order of the day maps link

Didn't know that, shame as the pub was nice

Should be a good turn out then

And hopefully less of a hate of all the bikes from the locals

It'll be empty because the footie is on, same as Gt Bently meets on Wednesdays

Only non footie fans will be there

Not packed but not empty, there were around 40-50 bikes there at a guess. Lots of old vintage stuff there, I counted 2 BSAs, 2 Nortons, a Laverda, an RD350, RD500, a real classic side car (didn't see what it was but it had a claxon) and so on...

Not a bad venue either, out of the way, friendly ladies doing the teas, seating inside and outside, nice relaxed atmosphere, I'll be going again for sure.

One thing, try not to make the same mistake I did and keep to the right when you turn off the main road...
