There are two different styles.
One that goes under the swing arm from the mid pipe and one that goes over the tyre by the shock. Which one are you looking for?

Re: How do i make twin exhaust system?
Almost finished mine. Got one more night at work then I can get it all fitted.
I got lucky and picked up an already modified exhaust system with a damaged connector for silly money on eBay (I think it was around £25 inc P&P) Mine has had a hole cut in the pipework under the rear shock linkage and a 70mm long piece of stainless pipe welded in. Who ever had it before had high level cans and did away with the pillion pegs. I need em so have had to modify the link pipe. Quite difficult as needed different angles to line the can up so was trial and error with cutting little bits off at a time. Made an exhaust bracket for 'passenger' side which bolts in nicely to the 2 pre threaded (M 8 ) holes in the rear of the pillion footrest holder. Hardest bit by far was freeing the rear pipework from the front down pipe. Bolts were rounded off on front header from previous owner so I ended up chopping off the join in the middle with a grinder. My left over bits will be up for sale soon. Last edited by Tdi90; 22-03-16 at 02:57 PM. |

Re: How do i make twin exhaust system?
I'm looking to mirror the position of the stock exhaust. Where is the best place to cut? Do I need to block off the rear pipe from going into the front pipe under the rear linkage?

Re: How do i make twin exhaust system?
I've not blanked the rear pipe off on mine. Its quite loud so I've made a cap for mot time so I can take the pipe off and cap it. If you blank off the rear pipe just after the new section then you wont be able to cap it as the gas will have no where to go.
Check my post re twin exhaust. I've linked in my facebook photo album thats got some pics of the modified pipe work to give you an idea of where stuff goes. Last edited by Tdi90; 26-03-16 at 03:00 PM. |
