no lights on dash, nadda
SO ... the saga continues, had new engine put in monday, Run fine, been out very pleased. Got the damn thing out today, all geared up, helmet on, doors locked, gate open...turned the key...and nadda, nofink. No neutral light, no little oil can light..not a jot..No clicks for anything
If its not a loose nut on the battery, or the main fuse..where do i look next?

Re: no lights on dash, nadda
I do now. i'll be out with that in the morning.
Battery were ok tother day, gets regularly used. A bit odd it suddenly to go plop. I'd have thought even with a weak battery I'd have had lights on the clocks Thought I'd see if there were any suggestions to check rather than the usual ones you check first

Re: no lights on dash, nadda
Chances are that it'll be a fuse somewhere for it to suddenly go. When you have the fuse box open, DMM between the pins for fuse 5 (meter). See what voltage you have. Also compare fuse 3 (ignition).
If you have juice at 3, but not at 5, then your ignition is at fault. If you have power at both, strip the loom to check for rubbing & water filled connections. If you have juice at neither, then it's the main fuse. |

Re: no lights on dash, nadda
The only electrical mod was the resiting of the main earth strap to the left hand side of the rear cylinder head. This is going to be a frustrating afternoon, better get Dizzy packed of to some place other than here.

Had a look yet at the fuse?
Could you simply have done the leave the parking light on trick and flattened the battery? Got some car jump leads? |
