i WILL actually ride my bike at some point this year... anyone up for a ride tomorrow lunch time/early aft?
hey ho, had a carp week and I need a ride. Was gutted about the weather last night since I spent all week looking forward to it. I've checked the metoffice and it looks nice all day (till late evening).
So, I'm riding to work for about 9am tomorrow morning, putting in a few hours then going on a substantial ride aiming to be back home in york by about 5/6pm ish - what can I do with 5 hours of riding time? I'm familiar with the peak district (out of huddersfield to holmfirth, upto holme moss, down the woodhead to glossop, snake pass, then turn left a little bit afterwards and come back over the strines moor, and back on to holmfirth again. From memory the ride is about 80 miles and takes about an hour & a half if you're feeling enthusiastic. Alternatively I might be brave and venture towards the lakes (which I've not had chance to do yet). Or there's the north york moors and the dales (possibly helmsley and the b1257)... Not sure to be honest - any ideas? and more importantly does anyone want to join me? If you're free from lunch time and want to have a bit of a weekend warmup ride, post below p6

I *should* be free from about 4PM onwards, bit late going on your timings above though.
Give us a shout though if you'll be about. *Providing nobody at works drops a clanger last minuite like folk do tend to enjoy doing last thing on a Friday.

update, as with everything in my life lately it's all a bit skewiff... I've brought some large foamex sheets (work) home with me in the car to complete tonight and didn't actually consider the fact I'd have to take it back to work with me tomorrow morning - So I'm not riding in on the bike anymore. feck it.
