Default Clutch drag? Wheel spins when clutch pulled in.

hi, ive just done a handle bar conversion, trying to adjust the clutch cable but cant stop the rear wheel spinning with the clutch lever pulled in. any ideas?

iirc it will spin clutch pulled in or not. why is it a problem?

Do you mean that it won't stop with the engine running?

Mine won't do this when its on the stand, but when the wheel is on the ground, clutch works as normal

Have you set the worm drive screw properly? Check the worm drive mechanism behind the sprocket cover is moving when you're pulling the clutch lever

That's interesting that it won't stop when on a stand. I was more concerned about this than setting the rest of the adjustments

Well that's better, its all as normal when the bike is on 2 wheels, just to check the next thing, when the bike is started should you still hear a faint sound like the initial fuel pump prime sound?
In gear, ignition on clucth out, should the pump prime on not? Thinking not when its in gear

It should prime, but you shouldn't be able to start it.

no, it won't prime unless clutch is pulled in or the bike is in neutral
