Had a little scooter when the diff broke on my Spit and I had to get around whilst waiting for a replacement. Oce I got the Spit working again the scooter sat rusting in the shed until I gave it away...

Possibly the worst thing apart from I hated the damn thing was:

It sounded cr@p
It was bright canary yellow (and got me called LaLa for quite soem time at work )

All was fixed though when I got the Spit running again and the GPZ about 6 months later...

No i've not got one either.

Just not natural riding with your legs together.

No but would consider one for going to work on as its not worth using the motorcycle because work is only 2.8 mile from my house, mostly cycle at the moment.
Would probably get a Gilera DNA twist and go.

2.8 miles is really cycling territory IMHO.

What, and you think I don't too? No it will be fine. I ragged it for 8 hours and 250 miles twice in one weekend remember.

In fact I think he will enjoy himself on the corners. You can lean it right over. I've had the centre stand down on it!
Lol, it makes me giggle! Hmm, 'enjoyment' wasnt the word he used to describe the commute this morning.

Personally, I have spent a whole 20 minutes on a scooter and hated it. I'm not a scooter person. I can't even get on the things correctly and having your legs down there just isn't normal.

I've got a little 50cc Sym thingy, cost me £200 off ebay, it's great fun to ride, I use it for just nipping about, and I can still beat most cages away from the lights.

Never had one but with the old "twist and go" I can see the appeal to many people. I was though somewhat resigned to the fact that my 15 year old had decided he wanted one.I refused to encourage him as my belief is that he should go for a real 50 with gears etc.

Anyway he made an old man very happy the other day when sitting down with me and telling me that he would like my opinion on both the Yamaha TZR and the Derbi GP bikes.(Not much in it but I have to say the Derbi looks a little cracker!)He has after being left alone, decided that it does not make sense for him to go the scooter route. When he is bound to want to update to a 125 as soon as he is able.

(I think part of it is he believes this will see a quicker route to him getting his hands on my Duke! )

Well,
I know I'm not wearing appropriate clothing but,
here's me on a twist and go 100cc scooter in corfu in 2003 :-

what a strange thing the twist and go auto clutch mechanism is. It wasn't particularly fast, and I found it a bit hairy, setting off because you have to rev the bejesus out of them to set off to make it pick up speed.

Although a days jaunt around the island on this with Girlfriend on back made me realise that I was a biker after all, there was a hole in my heart where a bike should be and I told her that we'll be riding about on a proper bike soon.

And now we are and it's great .

By the way, this was the rental man's best bike, and I got it cause I had my motorcycle licence, which greatly impressed him..
