Morning Gary. Leg and back have improved a lot since the zap on Tuesday, so a longer walk beckons. Also a spin on the bike, just to make sure that things really are improving, obviously

Morning Craig, glad to hear you're feeling a bit fitter. You going to join John and me few a couple of hours riding next Wednesday?

I'll see how I go on with it over the next few days, Gary.

I've been out on another test ride today. This time I tried the CB500X as a bit of a wildcard. I really liked the seating position and the overall ergonomics, it handled really well and for a twin it was very smooth indeed. But, the seat was a little too high and even though it spinned up really quickly the engine lacked any punch out of the corners. From comparing the specs I had a feeling those would be my two bugbears.

Of the three I've tried so far, I'd like the ergonomics of the 500X, the engine from the Tiger 660, the handling of the SV, and the sear height of my T100. I'm going to have to compromise somewhere but I'm in no hurry.

Next on the list are the bigger capacity options: Tracer9 and Tiger 900. Both have more power than I need, both are physically bigger than I'd like, but both come with adjustable seat heights and both can be had with lowered suspension. The search continues.

Good morning orgers. What's everybody up to this bank holiday Monday?

Today I shall be mostly filling in the big hole in my back garden, and making a start on clearing the first of the raised beds on my newly acquired allotment.

Morning Gary. Things still improving slowly, so a little walk and spin on the bike will do nicely.

Glad to hear you're on the mend Craig. If I can get my garden and allotment jobs done in time I might nip out for a short run on the bike. I need to go to Welshpool for a few bits anyway....

No lurgy at Trev Towers so far but I may come down with something if month end (next week) goes a bit sideways, especially as my boss is away on hols again. How on earth does a finance director get time off over month end??

Lady Poppy and I picked a pub at random this morning and cycled the 15 miles or so to be there for lunchtime opening. Good job too as half of Buckinghamshire seemed to have descended on the same pub... It was very chocolate box twee, nice food, and lots of tables under shady trees on the gree outside but the queue to get served by the time we left was crazy. Now sat on the patio having another beer resting my knees so all good.

Ha! Resting my knees as well Trevor, after a solid seven hours of digging out the weeds and couch grass on the first of the new allotment beds. I am absolutely knackered now!

Hope you and Mrs LP aren't feeling too ropey Mike.
