Default Gladius Fork Springs

I want to replace the springs on my 2013 Gladius ABS forks, going by other posts on the SVs linear seems to be the way.
There is very little choice for the Gladius, do any of the earlier SV springs fit?
Anybody know the length of earlier springs?

Whilst I can't answer your question, I suggest dropping an email to K-Tech they have been helpful with my Yam. They sell shocks, cartridge inserts and springs.

depends on what weight you are it might be throwing money at a problem that is not there. IIR the galddy had uprated spring from the pointy/curvy.

better playing with oil viscosity to control the rebound.

Thanks Bibio, I previously had a Pointy and you steered me in he right direction with that so I am happy to be guided by your better judgement. I'm just under 12st dripping wet, I want a set up for lively road use, not the track. The rear shock is u/s and I want to replace that, all of the posts I have read recommend K6 gsxr shocks, there are lots of later shocks available do you know if they fit and or are any good? Any help greatly received Thanks

cant help with the shock as the gladdy is newer than the pointy. if people are recommending the K6 GSXR then go with that but according to my matrix the 600 and 750 K6,7,8 are around 320mm and 90deg rez. you might have a problem with the spring lb depending on linkage ratio. from what pics i can see the ratio looks like the same as the pointy so a softer spring would be in order. remember that the pointy rear will get harder as the rear lowers so if you put a hard spring on things will get a bit bumpy and rattle your teeth.

to test the front set the static (without rider) preload then measure the sag with rider. if its within 35-45mm (adjust for better riding skill e.g. 30-40mm) your good to go. if its over that then springs are in order. this fully depends on your braking skill and how hard you brake. remember that rebound is mostly the key to success not compression. i would personally have a little dive than a pogo stick.

i personally prefer a more compliant suspension for road use even fast road. you want to soak up the bumps not end up in the ditch due to things kicking out on bumps.

buy a bottle of Silkolene RSF 7.5w and 20w.

start with the 7.5 and do the bounce test. if the forks overshoot more than 5mm then remove 50ml from each leg and add 50mm of the 20w and give a good mix using the spring (be careful of oil getting everywhere off the spring) then put cap back on and go for a ride. then do bounce test again. repeat till you have about 5mm overshoot. too much rebound (slow/hard) can be worse then bad compression so take things easy when adjusting the oil. if you have to much rebound e.g. slow/hard you will dive into potholes etc.etc or even worse pack down after bumps.

Would you advise that the rebound holes in the dampers are welded up as per the earlier SVs?
