Re: Floppy clutch lever?
I've updated my page with info on a collapsible gear lever I fitted last year that I think is a good safety addition and also reduces even more slop/play in the gear change system.
https://halnico.com/SV650/Clutch/SV650ClutchLifter.html My 99 gear changes are slick and problem free and almost like having an ,"Automatic" gearbox

Re: Floppy clutch lever?
Well..... Brand new overpriced worm drive fitted everything adjusted and still not working. Exact same problems as first post

Re: Floppy clutch lever?
Yes all is as it should be, not sure wether to pull clutch plates out or not. Bike had been stood since easter (but had oil change etc last week) so not sure if plates could of stuck together that quickly? and if so would that give the problems im having (see post 1) anyway too wet to try today but missed my mot date now anyway
Thanks for taking the time to read my confused ramblings.

Re: Floppy clutch lever?
Yeah new cable and clutch plates and steels less than 400 miles ago and now new worm drive. I also get frustrated when i can't fix things but im doing everything ive always done and its not working grrrr. As i said in post 1 it all works for a few gear changes then stops and needs re-adjusting i'm losing my sense of humour quickly

https://www.reddit.com/r/sv650/comme...h_cable_loose/ I use blue thread-lock on the adjuster nut on the shifter/worm nut. They have some @ Halfords if you need some, https://www.halfords.com/motoring/pa...er-526632.html

Re: Floppy clutch lever?
Thanks had a look still not whats happening. I have even tightened both ends of cable and marked them and the two bolts to check for loosening or movement and nothing not a single millimetre of movement....

Re: Floppy clutch lever?
I'm out of ideas unless there's a fault inside the clutch itself. Years ago on one of my Hondas I got the plate order wrong and it made things funky as some of the plates had to go in specific positions even tho' they looked similar :/

Re: Floppy clutch lever?
Yeah, me too. Strange how it's just gone weird. Put away fine and working well and after a short rest it's gone daft, bike and me
