Default front brake disc question

Hi. This is my first post on the forum.

Ive recently bought my first big bike. A 99 SV650 X. Ive noticed a strange clicking noise from the front end when slowing down. There seems to be a bit of sideways play on the front discs where the collets are and this is where the click is coming from. Is this normal or am I looking at a new set of discs? Thanks in advance for any help. Rye

There should be some movement, they are floating discs afterall but that's quite a bit.

Seems like the spring washers on the back have weakened or cracked and gone AWOL. Probably an MOT fail there.

Thanks for the reply. Bike passed MOT few weeks ago before I bought it. Dodgy MOT? Looks like a new set of disks then. Quick net search - £200 a pair. Weep. Are there any good/cheap sites to buy from?
