Book value of '99 SV?
What is the book value of a 1999 SV650S? Or any ideas on roughly what I could sell it for? I'm looking at selling mine soon to try something different.
It has ~35000 miles and a full service history. I was thinking somewhere in the range of £1100 - £1200 but I could be over estimating. Thanks |

Is it standered ?? Has it been crashed or dropped / have any damage.
35k is not to bad as long as it has been looked after but in a buying point of view I would not even look at a bike with 35k on it but that's just me

Re: Book value of SV650
It's standard apart from end can. Had a full service including valve check at 27,000 miles, hasn't been dropped and also brand new chain and sprocket set not long ago.

Re: Book value of SV650
Best thing to do is look on ebay/bike trader and see what others are going for to get an idea.
It's worth what other people are willing to pay for it, and that can depend on the time of year (normally less in winter), how well you advertise it, what similar bikes are going for and how long you are willing to wait etc. The full service history and good condition will help, but it's still getting on a bit and although there's no reason it can't go on for another 35k many people like low mileage bikes, or expect a discount if they perceive a bike has high mileage. If it was me I'd put a well written advert with some decent pictures on ebay, emphasise the full service history and the fact that it's been looked after, and ask something like £1300-1450 (I'd expect to accept less than that) and see what happens. Take decent pics and aim for a bit more than you mentioned above, you might get lucky, or you can afford to be generous and knock a bit off and get what you were expecting/hoping for. Ive seen loads of non descript curvies at silly money lately, £1700 or more, but sold my 01 curvy last july for £1200, that had 33K miles. Im a tight wad with bikes and cars though and hunt out the bargains where I can. |
