Default Peak District Revenge - PM Ride In

Well I'd forgotten about Binky and Lissa's Peak District Revenge until the wife asked this morning "what's this on the calendar?"

Soooo, anybody from Leeds, Wakefield etc areas traveling down Friday evening? I can't get Friday off so will be setting off about 17:00 - 17:30 ish. Due to the time I'm probably gonna high tail it down the M1.

Anyone fancy meeting up on the way? Could meet at the services on the M1 at Wakefield or something?

Just a though anyways. Lemme know if anyone is intrested.

Cheers,
Phil

I'll join you Phil, if I have a bike.

My bike failed its MOT last week. I'm taking it to a different test centre tomorrow, so if it passes, I'll come along with you. If not, I can't be bothered messing around getting it sorted, so it'll have to wait till after I return from my holiday!

Maladjusted front steering lock stop.

So if it fails again tomorrow, it will need the front end stripping and some alloy welding.

If it fails again you just need to take it to my MOT guy who isn't an assweasel.

Could be a laugh, might come along.

I'm working, so I can pick up the late mob if so desired.

As far as routing goes - avoid highways is the first tickbox you should check (unless you're tight - there is a toll bridge not too far from me that seems to be the fastest route to anywhere in the south east). All three suggested routes are pretty good, but I wouldn't do Mortimer road if the weather is suspect though.

Are the scots heading across to this side of the pennines above the M62, or are they heading in from Manchester?

How'd the MOT go Mel?

I'm easy and quite happy if you (Orose) want to plan a route down that doesn't include the M1 - I didn't put any thought into the one I posted, I just made it up on Google.

I'll be good to leave Wakefield for 17:00 ish - is that a good time for everyone else?
