idle death
hi folks,
iv had my sv (the correct type curvy) for about a year now and in that time shes been awsome. but recently when waiting at lights or whatever with the engine idling she will just die on me. i figured it was jsut the weather so adjusted the idle a little higher (2k rpm) this seemed to sort the problem but this morning on my way to work she died a few times while waiting at lights etc. i have no idea where to start looking really it tends to happen more when its cold outside any thoughts? |

Re: idle death
How long typically has the bike been running before this happens? Does it happen after you have been out for an hour as frequently as in the first 5 minutes?

Re: idle death
Do you ride with your lights on all the time?
See if it dies without lights on. You shouldn't need the tickover that high. 1st thought is rectifier. |

Re: idle death
Lower your idle back down again and do as Pete says, give it a whirl with the lights off (if you can) and see what happens.
