What kind of riding did you do? I find all IL4's I've had are more thirsty than the SV...and hp is directly proportional* to economy since hp is energy and energy is the fuel. So on average, the hp you used in the 6R's power band, was less than the hp you used in the SV's power band (only way that can happen to you).

*there is a slight factor of how economically the engine releases energy from the fuel, i.e. how much energy transfer is there that doesn't go to the crank/back wheel/etc. But it's not really going to make a massive difference here.

That was taking it relativly easy on the way uo to NW3.5.

But even caining it its quite good. As you know its hard to keep an IL4 in its properpowerband all the time on the road.

True, it's either hard to keep it in the powerband, or dangerous if you can't resist keeping it in the powerband

Yeah, if i was to be in the powerband in first its a good 70MPH second would see me banned in the powerband on A roads, and third well, we will stop there.

I know what you mean, my CBR is like that (probably a bit lower geared though and only revs to 14250) but my other bike is just as bad if not worse! (going off my old GSX-R600, which had similar gearing to what you've described above)

Sounds familiar. I took the new toy out for another run this evening. The redline is 70mph in first, 108 in second and christ knows what beyond that. Every time I look down at the speedo it says something like 130. The worst thing is it doesn't even *feel* fast at those speeds.

Insane!

I usually get 130 from a tank while commuting, but yesterday I checked the clocks and... 150miles! I started worrying that the meter could be stuck or something, but once I got home a saw a familiar yellow flashing light... first time ever I was happy to see it

i've managed 68 miles 8.6 ltrs (?10 of optimax) from my 2003 curvy with full renegade system, but also got 103 miles out of the same amount, havn't really gone for all out eco ride yet, migth try it , have to ride round at like 2.5-3k tho

It just sounds to good

68 miles to 8.5ltrs works = 36.6mpg..lol

103 , same amount works out to =55mpg , impressive since even wen riding around in top gear at 35-40mph at 2800rpm-3000 ,

this is all mostly around town or country lanes
