So long SV, thanks for the memories, hello Falco........
Just bought an Aprilia Falco to replace the SV.
It's on an '04 plate 1200 miles, Akrapovic cans, alarmed, and loads of extras for £4500. What a bargain! |

Gear it down by 1 tooth on the front sprocket and it will work wonders. I hope your neighbours are understanding, especially when you start it in the morning for work
I have a clear headlamp cover for it if you want it.... Good choice by the way...... . |

It's the Aprilia that looks as good as it goes! Top choice!

I pick it up next weekend, I can't wait! The noise is deafening, luckily with my new job I won't need the bike for a daily commute, it just has to get me from Bolton to Canvey Island once a fortnight. Any tips on running a Falco would be helpful, things to be wary of etc etc.
I've used SV's for 4 years now and just feel the need for something bigger/more powerful/better(?) and unfortunately the SV1000 didn't ring my bell. I've been test riding CBR600rr and ZX6R, but after years of a v-twin the power delivery seemed poor. One ride on the Falco, and WOW............ that was me sold on it! You can get new ones for around £5500 but by the time you've alarmed it and added the bits (and not forgetting the first service at £300! ) The price on this year old one was great. Cheers Jelster I'll contact you by pm about the headlight cover when I get the bike. |

That looks beautiful, and if you've got it in the same colour as in the photo, it looks absolutely stonking

That's a really good price. I'm still thinking about a new bike and a Falco could be in the running if the Speed Triple turns out to be too expensive to insure. The new Triple is two groups up from the old one, apparently.
Looking around, low mileage Falcos seem to be around this price. I've seen one advertised as 04 model, 3400 miles, 1 owner, alarm, £4400. The Triple, at £7,600 is looking pricey. I could get a holiday and a new bathroom suite (to apease g/f) for the difference. |
