insurance costs
hi guys, looking to get average insurance costs for k8 sport, 23 years old, 1 year ncb, edinburgh area, last bike was 125cc. best i can get is £660 fully comp. anyone any cheaper and if so who with?

no such thing as an average cost - postcode, age, driving experience, points, garage, security, occupation, annual mileage, commuting, other vehicles, and others all play a part.
Phone all the agents and try and bargin down the price - play them off against each other. I found Devitts the cheapest, for what that's worth. |

1999 Curvy worth £1500.
20 years, 2 years no claims, clean driving history, good area, garaged. £170 TPFT That was with adrian flux bike sure. It also let's me ride other people's bikes TP with their permission. |

just keep phoning around
i found express good also bennets seem ok with new riders also worth doing a search through one of those that compare a load for you. its a boring job, but i got mine from £3000 down to £600 |

What makes a HUGE difference is age , if I remember correctly , hitting 21 and 25 drops a huge wodge off the premium as they think you are more responsible ......... and we all know thats a LOAD

Guess also the fact the bike will be new so insured at £4700 will make a difference, always forget that factor!
I generally hate insurance, paid out over £2k for last two year of insurance on the bloody car and not needed the insurance once! |
