I had an old Canon Powershot A470 kicking around so I thought I would play around with CHDK. Interesting project that unlocks all sorts of interesting features. This little thing can now shoot RAW.
![]() ![]() You may be surprised to know that CCD digicam point and shoots are now as popular as film cameras. Sent from my Nokia XR20 using Tapatalk

Love the tones on these B&W images, especially the first one.

Just a shame that the cameras are so expensive and poorly made lol

Hey Howard, WYC are holding a rummage sale at their store on the 18th. Might be worth checking out.

Shame it's a Saturday otherwise I'd drop in. I was there a couple of weeks ago to buy some Kentmere 100. The first time I'd visited the new shop. (foolishly staring down the rabbit hole and looking at Leicas)
I bought a Zorki 4 recently and am halfway through a roll using that. Only bought it on a sentimental whim because camera and the Industar 50 on it were born in the same year as me. I got the film from my hols in Gran Canaria processed last week. Used Take it Easy in Leeds, which is right by the station. The negs look OK but I'm a little disappointed with the scans. Quite flat, washed out and lacking in depth and saturation. I plan to rescan them myself and see if they look any different. |

Did you ever get around to using the scanner I sent you?
I'm looking more and more at vintage digital cameras. This is a Cybershot F707 and with a simple hack can shoot IR. It also has night mode which is quite nifty. ![]() ![]()

Sure, I use the scanner you sent whenever I develop a B&W film and it's working fine on a laptop with an older version of windows. I've scanned quite a few rolls with it. I tried to scan colour once but its a little trickier which is why I usually go for in-house scans.
Ah, I see you already have a Leica. How is it to use. I had a look at one in WYC. Small finders; I'd definitely need one with the adjustable diopter |

Oddly enough it came from WYC, was sold as "ugly" and was body only for £115. Caps at 1/500 but I never shoot that fast. It's ok, but like you say, the windows are small. Save yourself some money and try a Zorki 1 or FED if you want the Leica experience. Soviet Industar fitted rather than a Leica lens. Very small and easy to slip into the pocket.

Something you lot might like. Canon 7 rangefinder with 50mm f0.95 lens. That's a whole lot of glass.

Not sure if of interest to anyone, but apparently Lidl are selling 35mm/110/slide scanners for £24.99. I've had good results out of these and it's a cheap way to get a scanner. Ideal for quick scans for web use.
