Default Peak oil - your view?

Do you think we've got loads of oil left and that a litre of petrol should quite rightly cost less than a litre of coca-cola despite the processes/journey oil takes from the earth to our petrol tanks?

Or do you think we've already passed the peak and it'll soon require 2 barrels worth of oil to extract and refine 1 barrels worth? Will all the major economies crumble while nations become more hostile towards eachother as they attempt to secure energy at any cost?

along similar lines to the 'climate change' thread - what's your view on it?

As there is a prior reference to a Germanic dictator of the 20th Century, I'm allowed a spelling nazi moment!

Do you mean swastika Paul?

When we reach 'peak oil' does that mean we still have the same amount left as what has already been used? That's still quite a lot innit!

Do we need to climb to the top of a mountain to reach peak oil?

I thought they had found a massive oil reserve in the Peak District, nearly went off to dig up my garden

Where do you buy your coca-cola? I think you might need to shop around!
