Back from holidays and no work to go to this morning. I'm liking this retirement lark!

Excellent! A week of decent weather coming up too. Maybe time to pull the covers off the bike then Mike?

To be honest Gary, I cannot get my leg over a motorbike these days. We've decided to sell the VFR next spring and put the money towards an e-bike(s) to at least get some exercise.

It's still two wheels Mike, and as you say, you'll get some exercise from it too.

I love my ebike. It's a great therapy (not quite as good as my V-Strom) and if the route back is not on busy roads a pint or two for lunch at the halfway point is quite acceptable.

25 miles or more of cycle trails without breaking a sweat is easy peasy, even with hills thrown in.

I really want a Surron/Talaria/E Ride Pro, style electric bike to have some proper off road fun without annoying anyone. Quite expensive though given how limited they are.

I've had an ebike for 8 years. I used it regularly to commute into Shrewsbury for my job in Jessops. It takes all the strain out of hills. I still use it to for local tasks such as shopping or where I know parking might be an issue.

Got an E bike for the wife when arthritis made it difficult for her to cycle any more. She was a strong cyclist in her day, we cycled across Ireland, up the West Coast of Scotland, Skye and did the Bealach na Ba loop a day. Now with a replacement knee we mix it up between the electric and ordinary cycling. Although its an Ali frame and mid motor its still quite heavy. I can see the time will come when I have to get one. It could be a conversion job though. There is a choice of 6 possible converts in the garage to choose from but for now I keep fitting lower gears to help get up the hills.
