Attempted break in - again!
Again I've had an attempted break in. On hearing someone outside my room at around 2AM I went to peek outside my bedroom window and there was someone standing right outside eying up my window less than a foot away from me!
I didn't think he'd seen me, so I went to get the baseball bat, put my bike jacket on, and went running down the street after him! Unfortunately there was no one outside, but a guy looking pretty shifty down the street. He looked like a proper gypo, in full chav-garb! So i told him pretty much that i thought it was him but as i wasn't sure- i wouldn't wrap the bat round his head and told him to move on. So he followed me back to the house and as i went back in the door announced he'd be back within the hour with loads of mates. Manchester sucks a$$. |

Sounds like you need to beef up security a little. Even though the scrote was talking out of his behind.
I was only just talking last night about emmigrating as well... |

Argh that is so bad! And nothing has actually been done so I doubt the police can do much. Just be extra vigilant, maybe have a camera nearby to photograph his face? Then you could give that to the police. Hope you are ok mate.

Gettin2dizzy, do you have a computer in your room, or a laptop you could use? Webcam pointed out the window. There's numerous solutions you can use that will start recording based on motion detection. You can also broadcast on the web quite easily too. I've done just that in the past, to shift some drug dealers that were basing their "business" on the fire escape at my mum's old flat. |

Dreadful. So he has to go and get his 'Army' not willing to confront you on your own. (not that I condone violence) Its just that I hate the 'pack' mentality of the little scrotes.

Re: Attempted break in - again!
Manchester does indeed suck greatly. We seem to have more than our fair share of scrotes. I wouldn't worry about the scumbags when they mouth off, I've had my own fair share of run-ins with them and without exception they have backed down or run off. All mouth.
I live near the airport myself and have just replaced my 3rd stolen bike. Whereabouts in Mcr are you? |

Re: Attempted break in - again!
Live in Withington - and it seems like such a nice area (i'm on the nicer East side).
There are 3 guys including myself in the house, with enough ice axes to go round We've got and alarm & modern double glazing/doors all with deadlocks too! It seems nothing puts these guys off. Unfortunately my garage is detached from the house, with a very fragile door. Even with a ground anchor, chain, bike alarm and deadlock on the garage door I wouldn't be surprised to come back one day to find the bike gone. Police can't spare 5 minutes... |

Re: Attempted break in - again!
Could I suggest that you ring the police but mention that the person outside of your window seems to be carrying some sort either stick or 'rifle'. If you mention as well that you can't see their face as they seem to wearing some sort of 'balaclava' the police may show a bit more interest.
it'll probably drag them away from setting up a speed trap somewhere but 'hey there's always a down side'. |
