Mine's still original too, but to be honest it's not too happy... It only seems to take about a half charge from the bike now. The spare battery's fine so I'm assuming it's just an unhappy battery. Got a spare reg/rev anyway just in case

when the bike was running, i tested the charging input and the output, and it was fine, to e honest, this is the first proper battery i have had, let me explain!

When i first got the bike, that battery was tough, replaced it like for like, but it turned out to be the wrong one!!!

So i replaced it with this one over a yr ago, and it diesd just before christmas, but i have only done 1000 miles this year

Just my car battery starst a big ol diesel engine and last a lot lot lot longer!!!

Just dissapointed at Having to spend £52 on a new battery before i star triding again,
was supposed to be this weekend, but were under snow.....AGAIN!!!

My Battery is 18 months old, bike has done 24k and for the last 4 months it has been a little down on starting power. Luckily coz it does 60 miles a day usually it keeps it charged enough but the time is coming soon to replace it...Are there any better options battery wise or should i do a like for like swap?

Somewhere on this forum is a link to a website that will take you through how to THOROUGHLY test your charging circuit.

Mine was fine, but if yoiu let the battery get too dead you will not be able to recover it. A week of cold weather and an alarm will flatten te standard battery really quickly if you are not riding it enough.

Just Spoken to Balddood! aka Shaun,

And a super thumbs up to him! explained all about the battery so it now makes sense!! And got me my new one on delivery!

So i now have to change my rear shock! to enable the battery to go back under the seat......bugger!

never mind!

Alex
