mileage from Pirelli Diablo?
Hi all
I note that busters have Pirelli Diablo's for sale at £133 per pair! I am in desperate need to replace my roadsmarts which have over 10,000 miles on them. What sort of mileage would you get from the Diablo. I used to have Diablo Corsas on an R6 and they were awesome but mileage not so good! cheers |

That's not very good at all.
Does anyone know the difference between Diablo and Diablo Corsa? |

Re: mileage from Pirelli Diablo?
I had a Diablo rear on my SV and it took about 1000 miles to square off, 2000 miles til it was illegal.
(It was a Supercorsa SC2 compound) |

Re: mileage from Pirelli Diablo?
Thanks for the advice chaps. Think I'll steer clear of those. 15k miles a year could get expensive!

Re: mileage from Pirelli Diablo?
I'd suggest going for Avon Storms, they're awesome tires. I've done over 5000 miles on a pair and the rear isn't even showing signs of squaring off or running out of tread.

Re: mileage from Pirelli Diablo?
I have a real dilemma cos I need the mileage with my 40 mile commute every day but I (perhaps unreasonably) also want decent grip in wet and dry and feedback. Roadsmarts last forever and the grip is good but they just feel a bit numb and I don't like the profile and turning characteristics. That's why I want to try something different. I'll have a look at the Avons. Thanks

Re: mileage from Pirelli Diablo?
Well it depends which Pirelli Diablo. The right one for the SV is the Diablo Strada which is the sports touring tyre. An excellent tyre for the SV IMO and was the favorite on this forum for a long time, but now Avon Storms seem to be the flavour of the month.
My Diablo Stradas tend to get about 5000 from the rear and 8000 from the front and I don't hang about. The rears do square off but I've yet to find a tyre that doesn't (never tried dual compound) and I actually find the fronts wear on the edges and go pointy, but maybe thats just be being too enthustastic on roundabouts At that price if they are Pirelli Diablo Strada then go for it. Good tyre. The Metzeler Roadtec Z6 is exactly the same tyre BTW, just a different tread. (I now have one on the back with a Diablo Strada on the front 'cos I needed for an MOT on Friday and thats what they had in stock). |

Re: mileage from Pirelli Diablo?
FWIW I did a fair few trackdays on the Diablo Stradas and really rated them, as well as toured on them, a great do it all tyre, loads of feel too.
