Our streets now have a St Georges flag high up on the lampposts- why? Think there are political and racial overtones. Reform councils so I have e-mailed our MP asking if she can influence there removal

Talk about paranoia . what is wrong with flying our national flag in our own country ? Go to USA and you will see the Stars and Stripes on every public building, school, post office and most private houses. The difference is that the Americans are taught to love their flag and country, while we are told to hate and despise our flag as a symbol of oppression and racism - when actually it is seen around the world as a flag of democracy and free speech - which is ironic because Britain is now the grave of democracy and free speech under the Starmer Regime.

Last time I was in the US there was even a flag flying from a passing fire engine. I find their patriotism at least very uplifting.
Why should we allow our own patriotism and flags to be hidden, just because someone thinks someone else might potentially be slightly offended? The Welsh, Scots and Northern Irish are not afraid to show their colours so why should the English be singled out? On lampposts all over my town you will find unauthorised signs for a travelling circus, teak furniture sales, art exhibitions, student club nights, you name it. Nobody bats an eyelid about those, even the ones that get in the way or are at head hight ready to clonk a mobile phone zombie who never looks where they're going.

And I really don't think anyone should be hold Murica up as an example of anything except a country's rapid descent into fascism.

And the welsh flag has been hijacked by the Welsh ultra-nationals, same with the Scottish flag, I suppose we could also call them thugs and numbskulls. How come whenever anyone carries a St George cross flag in a demonstration of local people protesting against say illegal migrants in local hotels, they are given the label 'far right thugs' - how about the anti-semites marching in London every Sabbath and burning the flag of Israel openly( yes the Jewish holy day ) flying Palestinian and even ISIS flags, what would you call them. When you talk about facism look no further than Starmer and co

We celebrate St Georges day in a typical refined English way, Mummers plays plus a typical age old traditional celebration, with no racist overtones. I am sorry but I find nothing coming out of America inspiring or worth using as an example of a better attitude to life. I do not agree with open disrespect to any peoples and cannot see how Starmer and co equates to fascism. Flags on lampposts are no more than fly tipping which is illegal and should be treated as such

We hardly ever fly the saltire up here even on st andrews day. I occasionally cross the border on days out and always amazed at the amount of union jacks flying with the odd st georges cross. It always amazes me that people use their flag for racism symbols. Do these people not realise that a lot of immigrants ate entitled to stay here as they had british passports and fought along side us in the two world wars. Lets not have a repeat of the 70s please.

It was an absolute mare of a drive. Got caught in traffic just before Cambridge, then again around Kettering and then this lot.
