Default SV650 K3 fork replacement

I managed to have a wee spill on my bike and am getting it back up and running. I noticed today that the wheel doesnt really point the same way as the bars do, damn. The forks are a bit bent, doh. I was wondering what the options are in terms of 1) getting the whole forks replaced for a better set (GSXR inverted ones for example?) or 2) replacing just the legs. Has anyone done such a fix, if so what did it end up costing? Hope all is well in SV land. Thanks for any info....

I have GSXR front end on mine, cost 600-800 quid ish.

Worth doing instead of replacing with stock SV parts again.

IF the damage to your forks is not huge companys like Motoliner in Kent can straighten forks and yokes, may be a chaeper fix.

Replacement stanchions are around £90 each, (about £175 for ti-nitride ie gold) and £200 if genuine, you'll also need a set of fork seals and outer fork bushes, no harder to fit than changing a fork seal provided you but the right stanchions

Hi, when you say the "crown" do you mean the top yoke? it's really important that you make sure that you check exactly what is wrong before you start ordering parts. Some things can be straightened, and some replaced with pattern parts. I would take the whole front end appart before ordering anything and then see what the dammage is. You may find it is less than you first thought and that repairing what you have is the cheapest and easiest option.

i did the k5 gsxr 750 front end on my 04 naked, and it is a world of difference. handles/rides much nicer, and the radial calipers are worlds ahead of the stockers. i vote upgrade!!

how much did that cost and was there much converting with the yokes? Im thinking of doing this because i want more stopping power and more front end confidence.

Im going to look at the breakers for the front end of a GSXr or some similar bike see how little itll cost.

Also what effect will it have to insurance?
