Having been ill all last week and still with a troublesome chest, I have done no running at all. Unlikely to be doing any running for the next few days either, but will be taking my running gear into work just in case.

Hoping my 10 mile race isn't cancelled this Sunday due to snow.

At night I've been wearing a long sleeved thernmal top, running tights things, a sort of track suit top, thin running gloves and a hat. Sometimes the gloves and/or hat have to come off.

The biggest issues are slippery surfaces and getting snowflakes in the eye!

Somebody recommend me a pair of trail running trainers. I've bought a pair of these but they have proved to be useless for running. So I now have a pair of rather expensive (but waterproof) trainers for casual wear. Need a good pair of trail running trainers for the hellrunner I am doing in February.

I love running in adverse conditions. The colder and wetter the better.

Going out for a run tonight. Hopefully it'll be blowing a blizzard when I go out.

Innov8 are a good make, loads of options on their website, and a good talk through their range.

I've used my innov8 Flyrocs a lot on the edges of the North York Moors, and on tracks, trails and fine on the road. Not too high on the heel so pretty secure.

As for the Yaktrax, I'll give them a miss for now!

I've had a look at them and quite like these and will probably give them a go.

Did a 6 mile run this evening. 3 times up a steep hill. Nice and cold with a sprinkling of snow on the ground. Forecast is for plenty of snow this weekend so will try to get a couple of runs in. Probably along the canal.

Personally I wouldn't bother with Goretex versions for running, only walking, I'd save a few quid as when off road some water is bound to seep in over the top, I'd prefer it out quickly.

But Innov8 are great from what I've experienced
