Xbox 360
Afternoon fellow SV'ers
I have noticed a few people have got their XBOX ID in their signature and was wanting to ask a question. Has any one on here ever had the 2 red lights issue with their xbox and managed to fix it? All help would be greatly accepted!!! Mine is in bits at the moment waiting for a new fan to arrive as well as other bits but has anyone fixed the problem? |

Re: Xbox 360
If its the full ring of death, try wrapping the xbox in a towel and turning it on for a bit. My freind fixed his xbox this way - metled some broken conections back together

Re: Xbox 360
That sounds like utter stupidity and just dumb luck that it worked.

Re: Xbox 360
You'd think that wouldnt you? But the early Xbox consoles had curcuitry done using poor quality solder (high in lead i think), and localised hot-spots inside the console (causing things to expand at differant rates...you know the score) caused connections to physically break. My mate found a forum suggesting wrapping the xbox on a towel and turning it on - several people reported success. He has nothing to loose anyway! With no heat being able to escape, the whole console got hot, not just localised parts. So everything could melt back together I suppose

Re: Xbox 360
So far I've had a few Xbox's die on me. I think I'm on number 3, 4 or 5. I can never quite remember. I've also had one power unit fail as well. My elite is now on it's way out. Have had a few issues with the display showing a checkered pattern which is a bad sign that the gfx chip is on the way out. Ah well, at least MS are very good with replacing it!
