Default 2014 Gladius //F1code

Hello

I picked up this fairly clean dead battery non runner bike with 8k miles in the US.

After putting in a new battery, bike powers up, but no start.

An article found indicates a "dealer mode" can target the problem. Its engaged by finding a white terminal with a black cap . I don't see it

Can someone send a photo of this and its location?

This project could be simple or slime.

thanks

Youre on a UK site here but no problem. With your query if you dont have the FI light showing there wont be any code to see. If so its much more likely to be the clutch lever or side stand switch etc as these interlocks have to be made to get a start...

hello

Thanks for the link to the photos. While waiting for a reply , connecting sockets were checked for corrosion / breakage.

I pulled the relay located just next to the fuse box and starter relay, for a look/ see. Nothing noticeable but the bike started right up and the F1 code disappeared right after re install.

Herez a pic.

thanks

Good and yes they can suffer with electrical system corrosion. Here in uk many owners spray all connections with protection for our wet winter weather and salted roads☹️

As has been said, it's worth using something to keep the crap out of the connector blocks. give them a good clean and then a small amount of ACF50 will keep any corrosion at bay.

I use ACF50 On all my electrics and also on top of the relay/large Block connector under the tank and my Spark plug caps a smear a thin amount of some Dielectric grease as extra protection
