Default LED indicators flashing fast.

forgive the lack of techno talk..

Have had LED's fitted to my bike, but they are flashing too fast. we went to Suzuki shop to get a relay (i think thats what OH called it??? ) but the guy at the shop said its not possible to fit LED's to the later SV's and i would need to change back to normal indy's is this true? find it particularly hard to believe i am the first to put led's on a pointy ... so there must be a way around to get them working properly?

anybody help me please? thanks V

H'mm I haven't done it, but most LED's need a resistor to slow the flash rate, I've got some LED's to fit, which incl an inline resistor for each one

Did someone say LEDs on a pointy???

Yeah Suzuki bloke is talking rubbish.

Well mostly rubbish, it IS true that there is no Flasher Relay swap out option, like I had on my Z750.

That, however is not to say that it cannot be done, as I have done it.

Get down to Halfords and spend about £15 on a flasher-relay, then if you are not happy cutting wires/soldering/joining wires, get someone who is, to connect it in, its really just as simple as cut two wires, join those to 2 other wires, but can be daunting if you haven;t gotten past the "If I touch my bike I'll kill it" phase

DONT go down the alternative route of putting load resistors alongside the LEDs (which DOES work) as that is the second best way of doing it.

I have some, not very good admittedly, pics of my install somewhere if needed.

Make sure to go back to him when you have followed soulkisses advice above and laugh at him.

4 of those wires are for all the interlock switch crap, you should look in haynes at diagram. You need to use 2 for indicators, solder 2 of them together and ignore the other 2 IIRC. Then you can get rid of the OEM relay.
