My middle daughter is at uni in Manchester, tomorrow she is cooking Yorkshire Puddings. Is this allowed on that side of the hill?.

Well, how to meet your neighbours and the local cops Leeds style.
The daughter phoned last night in tears. It would appear that the nice chap who lent me a spade to dig the van out yesterday, isn't too nice. As I said in the stuck thread, her neighbours don't believe in clearing the snow in front of their houses so he had to reverse uphill off his drive through the snow. But he overcooked it, straight across the road and into my daughters car, realising what he had done, he drove back into his drive and dashed into his house. My daughter knew none of this until she had a loud knock on the front door. There stood a police officer of the female variety who asked if it was her car and told her what she had just seen as she was patrolling in an unmarked vehicle. She then went across the road to have a word with her neighbour. She told him that she had seen him collide with the car over the road and that she required him to exchange his insurance details. He denied having been driving the car (despite the snow track) and she then asked him for a breath test. At which point he pushed her outside of the door and slammed it closed. So six police cars and some sort of persuasion to the door whilst the helicopter circles and he is off in the back of a van. Daughter is now scared 1 day into the house and all this has kicked off and will he blame her. She is waiting for the nice officer to come back with her number etc. so she can enter it as a witness in the accident report form. It just goes to show how you can misjudge people. I thought him a very pleasant chap as we had a little chat yesterday morning. Or is that just them there Yorkshire types?
