OK, mine just fell off, and i have both the bikes in there, and i'm not here during the day - bugger - glad i live in a low crime area...
I need to know about replacing it, is it just a trip to BnQ and some DIY or do I need a specialist installer? how much is it going to cost? timescales? We're at a level 3 panic here ![]()

it's a flat metal sheet that runs on a pair of rollers and kind of swings up to the ceiling of the garage when you open it, the top goes in and the bottom swings out
like this, but without the cheesy keyfob... ![]()

A new door is going to be in the range of £500. If it's a standard size. Good luck

Personally I would have a go at that myself. Can't see it being that hard. Just think of it as a huge set of drawers that have rollers that you get from Ikea. If you can build one of those and it work smoothly, you CAN DO ANYTHING !
If it was the roller type - wide berth. Saw the utter travisty that was my neighbour's attempt. "Straw that broke the donkey's back" comes to mind.. |

Whats wrong with it? I would have thought its unlikely that its kna*kered...probably something small needs replacing...
Have a look at the rollers and struts...are they in line? not broken? Has the frame come away from the brickwork? If so, some screws might sort it...? If you aren't confident about doing it yourself, a quote from a reputable handyman might be a way forward before you start going off to buy a new door etc... HTH, Billy. |

i'd be more inclined to replace it considering it was pretty knackered anyway (it must be getting on for 10 years old now) and i have both my bikes behind it...
