Default Reconnected battery - tacho sweep!!??

Not enuf juice in the battery to turn her over yesterday - not used a while.

Took out battery and recharged for a bit and reconnected.

when I turned the key in the ignition, the rev counter needle swept upto 7k and back down again.

anyone know what this means??

ta in advance

BTW it still didn't have enuf juice as the charge wasn't for long enuf - is now fully charged though

Yes.
It's automatically done when reconnecting the battery if it has been disconnected for more than 40 seconds (according to the service manual).
My K7 did it when I connected the bike's battery for the first time a couple months ago.

My Bandit used to do this every time I turned the ingnition on. Both dials all the way round and back down again. Quirky and quite cool for the first two times I saw it.

When I had a knackered battery my speedo indicated 183mph for a few miles! Then it stopped working and I got a lift home in a van.

Daytona does it every start up.
