and all i can say is brill...and giggle
It was very slippy and wet but they still let me take it out, the bike was a 57 plate datona special with the akrapovic pipes sans baffles (yum) and map 2, with only 100 miles on it. I didnt take it too far, but gave it a trip thorugh town and down the motorway to my house to check with kitten it was pretty enough, it takes a lot of restraint not to go triple figures over and over again.... but my license preservation kicked in and kept it tame and under 6k rpm as it was not yet broken in. I giggled like a girl, and have never had so much fun on a bike...ever The Tuono is awsome, brakes awsome even in the wet, engine.. imense... soo much power, i dread to rink what it will be like above 6 k Rpm. Finish is great and the paint looks glossy and generally very well built. I can see it having everyday relaibility and practicallity. Overall i loved it, and i will buy one, they offered me a blue and white one for £6500, which i nearly had there and then, but must wait. Any way.. merry crimbly to all.. heres hoping santa took my hints and theres a tuono under the tree? Cheers Alex |

Ridden the new RSV, love the engine (same as the tuono I think), but must say I prefer the older model, the new one is a bit small, but that's a personnal thng I guess, seems Aprillia have got their act together on build quality now though and rumor has it the spares backup is better?
Cheers Mark.

I think all of that cash thrown at Aprilia by Piaggio about 2 years ago augers well for anyone contemplating buying a machine from an Italian brand that, arguably provides much better value for money than Ducati.

Where did you test ride it? I'm thinking of changing for one in the not too distant future....

So where is the fun in that? ... personally I find the above so frustrating it is one of the reasons why I don't own or want another superbike!!

a place in wakefield called Kawasaki Motorama, they have shifted 40 this year and they reckon thats mostly down to putting them on demo. Whilst i reckon the fun will begin above 6 k, i love bikes for thier low down punch and speed to the legal limits, whislt i may stretch themi have no desire to smash them as i value my licence far to much!! and personally i dont like going at 100+ mph as the risks out wight the fun i get from it. I really really want one now.. but need to do a couple of other things first before i can actually afford one comfortably. It reallt looks good, and i would buy an older one if they hadnt have launched the new one, as i just prefer the new looks by a massive amount, nd as thier are no major changes for next year i reckonnow is the time to buy, especially as they are genuine uk bikes for £6500, the only other bikes i like are the trimph tiger ( to expensive) and the KTm either 990 sm or the super duke, both cost more and i dont reckon will have the real world practicalities, (dare i say it about an aprilia) of the tuono. The only problem now is the colour, i want a blue and white, but as thats the one scheme they are keeping into next year, the deal might not thierto be had when sales pick up again, does anyone know when sales start to pick up again? i woudl have said april may but might be wrong. wonder if i can leave a deposit now but have it in march? Any hoo... more comments welcome? |

look awesome, sound awesome however if Im honest, im probably wanting some wind protection (dont think the screen would do much?) and I'd be scared to drop/bin it. Might be one for me after the next bike.
