This seems to be closely related to the last thread you posted regarding a problem? Did you not sort it out on the basis of the info provided then???

i forgot about the last post, so just re-read it, i dont think its carb icing, as it was quite warm yesterday. (i could be wrong) took all the jets out last night and cleaned them, they did not need it, but i did not know that until i checked, it seems to be not getting enough petrol under high revs, but only when im riding, not in nuetral, i will get some of this (i missed this post last time) but it looks like it is mainly for icing going out on a toy run this morning, and it seems i can ride it slow without any problems, so it should be ok. i was just wondering if there was an easy way to clean the petrol, and any blockages (somthing like barry scotts cilit bang, but for bikes ![]() next job will be drain the tank, and inspect the petrol filters thanks for listening H ![]() Last edited by hovis; 23-12-07 at 10:29 AM. |

Try this one, not as good but will give you a view of CV carb internals.

Hovis...What kind of condition is the air filter in? Could it be clogged with crap? Higher revs the engine needs more air and fuel something that might not be as noticeable at lower revs

Bah - 'Blade forums are poo. I had a pootle round a couple of them (n 'CBR' forums) a couple of years ago - they were of so much use and welcoming that I can't even remember the www for any of them and never left here!
![]() I can try to find them again if you want to chat with some of the worst types of weekend warriors. ![]() Oh yeah, as for your problem Hovis... um, never had similar I'm afraid so can't help... the BlueBlade is all nice and snug tucked up in the garage throughout this kind of weather. ![]() Last edited by K; 23-12-07 at 01:08 PM. |

Check your Air filter and Fuel Filter. Carb icing gives you the effects you are describing, my Curvy is alright until you want to twist the throttle a bit more and nothing happens (almost like hitting an invisible rev limiter). I too have no problem when the SV is in neutral and stopped, its only on the move!!! The Silkolene PRO FST I use in the petrol is perfect at getting rid of this problem.
Check the filters first though..... |
